Laura's journey
Laura gained graduate degrees in plant ecology and science communication, before becoming the owner and manager of an international education business in Christchurch. For 12 years, she helped thousands of American students study in New Zealand, Australia, Antarctica and Fiji.
Since then, she’s worked in senior management roles in nonprofits and in local and central government, as well as being a freelance writer and editor for science organisations. She is a certified Positive Psychology Coach, and enjoys working with individuals and teams to help them reach their work and financial goals.
Outside of work she is an adventurer.
Ever since she spent a year as an exchange student in the Caribbean at age 16, Laura has loved to travel. Some of her most memorable experiences include hiking to see wild mountain gorillas in Rwanda, dodging sea lions in the sub-Antarctic Islands, banding kiwi chicks in Fiordland, and camping for two weeks in the remote highlands of Nigeria. Closer to home, she’s a mad walker and hiker and loves exploring the hills of Wellington and the backcountry of Aotearoa.
